When browsing my news feed this morning, I saw the story of Australian surfer Owen Wright.
He had suffered a horrific brain injury in 2015 and had to learn to walk again. His story at the time didn’t get much attention, except in the surfing world. I remember reading it briefly and saying, “that sucks” – and in our crazy fast paced world, he was soon out of sight, out of mind.

This morning, he became an Olympic medalist – quite an achievement, and one that should be applauded.
It made me consider perseverance. That we are required to run the race that is set before us. Don’t see failures, see them only as lessons being learnt. No one ever said there won’t be setbacks, but we glorify God with our comebacks.
