It seems that some people just know how to get under my skin. Or perhaps I am just too sensitive. There was a time my instinct was to fight fire with fire. I’m older now; my energies are required elsewhere.
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness within it, is a breach in the spirit.
Proverbs 15:4
Just the thought that my speech could create a breach in my spirit that allows negative energy to alter my day, is enough reason for me to speak softly.
Choosing not to respond is always a good first action. If you do respond, choose your words carefully. Let them be graceful and kind. Be fiercely protective of your peace.
